Driver snaps pole in Hometown

Emergency crews were called to a section of Fairview Street, just off of Marian Avenue in Hometown Wednesday morning around 8:30 a.m. A female driver of a green Chrysler Concorde was traveling southwest on Fairview Street, when for unknown reasons, lost control and snapped a utility pole. The vehicle came to a stop at section of perimeter fence adjacent to Air Products and Chemicals Inc. plant. Rush Township Police, Quakake Rescue, and Fire Police responded. That part of Fairview Street was shut down for a short duration. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Despite airbags being deployed, no serious injuries were reported.
