A Schuylkill County driver, involved in a two vehicle crash, is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI). State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 3:11 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, along SR61 and Briar Rd., in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said Tammy J. Post, 49, of Middleport, was southbound operating a 2004 Toyota Camry and slowing for traffic ahead of her at the intersection. Frederick Lee Schnerring, 55, of Orwigsburg, southbound in a 1996 Ford F250 pickup truck, did not see traffic slowing and the front of his truck hit the rear bumper of the Toyota.Post was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, for treatment.Schnerring was taken into custody for suspicion of drunk driving and transported for a blood test. Troopers said the DUI charge is pending the test results.
