Colorado resident arrested in Monroe

A Colorado resident was arrested and jailed following a domestic incident in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 7:27 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, officers were dispatched to 1449 Courtright Rd., in Long Pond, Tunkhannock Township, to a report of a domestic assault.Upon arrival officers were told by Tina Coopes, 47, of that address, that she was assaulted by Gary Joseph Martins, 58, of Leadville, Colo., who made multiple threats to kill her and also displayed a knife during those threats.Coopes also told police Martins rammed her vehicle with his and said he would run over her. Martins fled the scene prior to the arrival of police.He was located a short time later and taken into custody and lodged in the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.
