EMT-B class ready for Carbon County

Lehigh Carbon Community College and the state Department of Health will offer the following EMT Basic training courses. The EMT Basic course includes skill demonstrations, hands-on practical skill workshops, and didactic presentation.

Programs will be provided by Pennsylvania state certified EMT instructor team.Carbon County classes meet at and required books are to be purchased the first day of class at the Nesquehoning site.The AAOS ninth edition manuel will be utilized for this course.The registration fee for each course is $250. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9 p.m. at the Carbon Center, 124 E. Locust St., NesquehoningSeveral Important Updates:- Registration for the EMT class being held in Nesquehoning is now open. www.lccc.edu to register. Tuition is $250. Register at least one month before class start date. Class start date is Sept. 7.- Textbooks and instructional materials will be available on the first night of class and students should come prepared to issue a check to LCCC in the amount of $95.Prior to Class Start:- A medical release form including the functional job description for EMT's will be sent to each registered student and must be signed by a physician or authorized medical professional-physician assistant or licensed nurse practioner acting on behalf of a medical doctor. This signed release must be returned to the college prior to final acceptance into the EMT program. Medical release forms will be accepted through Aug. 31.- Students are responsible for payments of personal medical bills for injuries or illness contracted during the program. It is highly recommended that each student secure personal health insurance coverage prior to the start of class.On the first night of class, each student will be asked to sign a form acknowledging responsibility for personal medical bills.
