Monroe driver facing DUI count

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) and drug counts following an incident that occurred about 1:57 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 15, at the intersection of Clearview Drive and Sullivan Trail Road, in Long Pond, Tobyhanna Township.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said a vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violations. The driver was identified as Anthony Wilson, 44, of Blakeslee. Wilson was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and during a search police found cocaine in one of his pockets.Wilson was transported to the Community Medical Center, Scranton, for a blood test. He will be charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
