Lansford man charged with eluding police

A Lansford man was charged after he eluded Summit Hill police.

According to Summit Hill police, on Aug. 14, at 10:58 a.m., officers were monitoring traffic on East White Bear Drive when they clocked a motorcycle, driven by John Cambria-Raygoza, 23, of 30 Cortright St., traveling at 103 mph. Police activated their emergency lights and attempted to stop the vehicle but Cambria-Raygoza failed to stop for police.Police also observed the motorcycle pass several vehicles in a no passing zone and weave in and out of traffic across the double yellow line. The motorcycle also drove on the wrong side of the road and continued driving between vehicles. Police were not in pursuit.Officers radioed ahead to Jim Thorpe police before losing site of the vehicle. It was later found that the operator was involved in an accident with the motorcycle.An investigation revealed that the motorcycle was not owned by Cambria-Raygoza, rather he had used the vehicle without the owner's permission.He was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude police, unauthorized use of an automobile, driving on right side of roadway, drivers required to be licensed, driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked, maximum speed limits, reckless driving, careless driving, no passing zones, and driving at unsafe speed.Jim Thorpe and Nesquehoning police assisted in trying to locate Cambria-Raygoza.
