A Monroe County man was jailed on charges of attempting to lure a child into a motor vehicle.

Pocono Mountain Regional police identified the man as Winston Johnson, 30, of Tobyhanna.According to police on July 18 Johnson allegedly pulled up to two young girls, ages 13 and 11 and both from Tobyhanna, as they walked down a side street near one of the parks in the Pocono Country Place development. He asked them if they wanted to go with him for a smoothie. Police arrived and interviewed the suspect who gave them a false name.Johnson was taken into custody and charged with two luring counts and one of false reports.He was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison after failing to post $10,000 bail.
