Two rattlesnakes, one 40 inches and he other 43 inches in length, were killed in Jim Thorpe today. The 43-inch swamp rattler with nine rattles and a button was killed. It crawled across a road and was run over by a car driven by Joseph "Star" Stawarski of Summit Hill. Chief of Police Francis Bennick killed the reptile. Fifteen minutes earlier at the Jim Thorpe dump in Coalport, John Resuta of Broadway killed the 40 inch rattler. It had a full grown rat in its stomach.
