The Tamaqua Salvation Army has a number of programs and activities scheduled over the next few weeks.A free "Back to School" Camp, for children 6 to 12, will be held Aug. 9-13, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Continuing programs include: Coffee Cafe, Mondays,10 a.m. to noon; Needlebug Sewing and Quilting Club, Mondays, 10 a.m. to noon; Older and Bolder, Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to noon.Fall computer classes for beginners will begin Aug. 23.AARP Driver's Training classes will be held Sept. 23 and Sept. 24, from 2-4 p.m.Worship services are held Sundays at 11 a.m., with Sunday school classes at 10 a.m. Men's and Women's ministries meet Tuesdays at 6 p.m.For further information, or to register for any of the activities, call (570) 668-0410 The Salvation Army is located at 105 W. The service will include a Joyous Noise Offering. Sunday school classes meet at 10:15 a.m.Activities for next week will include: Monday, food coop at 9 a.m.; Wednesday, Retirees meeting at 10 a.m.; Thursday, prayer group meets at 5 p.m.Calvary UMCalvary Evangelical United Methodist Church continues holding its services and events at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Rd. The Rev. Brian Reading will officiate at this Sunday's 10:25 a.m. worship service. Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m.Also Sunday, the annual Sunday school picnic will be held following the morning worship service.
