The Palmerton Area Historical Society will celebrate its 20th anniversary July 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Kibler One Room Schoolhouse in Lehighton.

The event will feature old time childrens' games courtesy of the members of the Mahoning Valley 4-H Community. Ice cream and sundae fixings will be provided by the Kibler School Committee. Ice tea, lemonade and other refreshments will also be available.The social is free to the members of the Friends of the Kibler School and their guests, members of the Palmerton Area Historical Society, 4-H Community members and their parents, as well as anyone who attended a one-room school.No rain date has been scheduled, though the society will have a large tent set up in case of inclement weather.
