State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a reported assault and theft incident. The incident occurred at the intersection of Meckesville and Old Stage roads, at the Mt. Pocahontas development clubhouse in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said about 9:34 p.m. on July 14 a large number of vehicles entered the development in convoy fashion. The occupants of the vehicles then exited with several holding bats, crowbars and other weapons. At the scene one juvenile was assaulted. The suspects also smashed the windows out of a Ford Escape parked next to the clubhouse and then all fled the scene. After the windows were smashed two cell phones and $60 were taken from the vehicle.Troopers said surveillance footage was obtained from the clubhouse. Troopers added the the juvenile victim also reported his cell phone, bicycle and earphones to his Ipod were missing.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 646-2271.
