Pa. Senior Corps Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is currently seeking volunteers to help some of the nonprofit venues taking part at the Carbon County Fair on Aug. 11 to Aug. 15. Volunteers are able to choose various volunteer shifts between 3 and 11 p.m. each day.

The Family Promise Family Homeless Shelter info booth is also seeking people to help give out information regarding the newly formed project to establish a Carbon County Family Homeless Shelter, the first to be located in Carbon County. Shifts are available from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.Volunteer help is needed at the Fair entrance gates for ticket takers, hand "stampers" and also for persons to sit in the craft, food and plant judged/display tents.On Aug. 10, starting at 6 p.m. volunteer secretaries are needed to assist judges as they judge entries for the 4-H projects.
