10 area people qualify for ARD program
Ten area people were among 25 who qualified for the ARD (Accelerated Relhabilitive Disposition) Probation Program, which is reserved for first offenders charged with a non-violent crime.
At a session in the Schuylkill County Court Thursday afternoon, District Attorney James P. Goodman submitted the names of the 25 people whom he ruled qualified and President Judge William E. Baldwin admitted them into the program.They do not admit or deny their guilt but agreed to accept the terms fixed by the court so they could work off the charge or charges against them and have a clean slate. The sentences imposed were as follows:Linda R. Heffelfinger, 24, of 337 East Elm Street, Tamaqua, was charged by Patrolman Thomas Duarte, Tamaqua Police, last January 18 with dui (driving under the influence) of alcohol. She was placed on probation 12 months, assessed $500 to defray the cost of the program, pay $300 to SAE (Substance Abuse Education) fund, $50 to CJEA (Criminal Justice Enhancement Account), a $50 monthly fee for each month on probation, attend alcohol safefty school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 10 hours community service and her driver's license is suspended 60 days.Alyssa M. McCarroll, 22, of 209 Market Street, Tamaqua, dui, 12 months probation, $500 assessment, $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, $50 monthly probation fee, outpatient counseling, attend alcohol safety school, continue with Self Help Recovery Group counseling and with mental health provider, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. McCarroll was cited by Patrolman Thomas Rodgers, Tamaqua Police, last December 30. On a charge of being involved in an accident and striking the parked car of Joseph and Sandra Bonar on Lafayette Street was fined $300 plus $50 costs.Maureen Erin Pickford, 45, of 524 Arlington Street, Tamaqua, dui, serve 12 months on probation, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, $50 monthly probation fee, attend alcohol safety school, receive outpatient substance abuse counseling and license suspended 30 days. Pickford was cited by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Rush Township Police, last January 20 on Hometown Hill. On a summary charge of not having proper lighting requirements on her car was fined $25 plus $50 costs.Brittany Marie Leidy, 20, of 445 East Abbott Street, Lansford, retail theft of four items from Walmart Store, Rush Township, serve 12 months on probation, assessed $500, pay $50 to CJEA, $50 monthly probation fee, make restitution of $25.57 to Walmart and perform 10 hours community service.Derek P. Snyder, 23, of 577 Blue Mountain Drive, Andreas Village, East Union Township, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, placed on probation 12 months, assessed $350, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab and perfrom 10 hours community service. Snyder was cited by Trooper Troy Greenawald last September 23 on Hunter Street.Richard Lee Bealer, of 353 Mush Dahl Road, New Ringgold, dui, serve12 months probation, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund,. $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, attend alcohol safety school and performn 10 hours community service. On a summary charge of of failling to obey a traffic signal was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Bealer was cited by Patrolman Matthew Bynon, Tamaqua Police, last November 8.Joseph Matthew Renninger, 25, of 34 Valley Street, New Philadelphia, dui, serve 12 months on probation, assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive Group Intensive Counseling, attend alcohol safety school and license suspended $60 days. Renninger was cited by Trooper Paul E. Hardnock on Route 209 between Middleport and Kaska Village last January 15.Gary Matthew Baneravage, 30, of 136 East Adam Street, McAdoo, dui, serve 12 months probation, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, attend alochol safety school and perform 10 hours community service. Baneravage was cited by Patrolman Robert Minnick, McAdoo Police, last January 30.Michael J. Miller, 51, of 222 East Blaine Street, McAdoo, dui, serve 12 months probation, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund., $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, attend alcohol safety school, enroll in Group Intervention Program, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days.John Wesner, 50, of 198 Haddock Road, McAdoo, dui, serve12 months probation, assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund,. $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend alcohol safety school, peform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. On a charge of careless driving was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Wesner was cited by Patrolman Jeremy Talanca, McAdoo Police, last August 13.Mark J. Bischof, North Catasauqua, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment, serve 24 months on probation, assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, undergo mental health evaluation, perform 10 hours community service and make restitution of $35 to Zachary Dudak. Bischof was cited by Chief Brian Johnson, West Penn Township Police, on July 11, 2009.Rebecca G. Correlll, 39, Minersville, theft, serve 12 months probation, assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, a $50 monthly probation fee, and make restitution of $608 to Fed Ex Company. Correll was cited by Patrolman Jeffrey R.Bowers, Minersville Police.Christopher James Fox, 20, Schuylkill Haven, dui, serve 12 months probation, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, a $50 monthly probaton fee, attend alcohol safety school, receive outpatient counseling and license suspended 90 days. On a charge of failing to drive at safe speed and on roadway laned for traffic was fined $50 plus $100 costs. Menne was cited by Trooper David Mayer last February 15 on Interstate 81 in Tremont Township.
