Christopher Weston, 28, last known address 723 E. Patterson St., faces charges from an incident which took place on June 9 at the Family Dollar Store in Lansford. Charges of retail theft and public drunkenness were filed by Officer Joshua Tom.

According to an affidavit of probable cause: At 6:20 p.m. that day, Tom answered a call about a retail theft at the store. When he arrived, he saw two men holding another man against a wall just outside the store. Employee Dale Miles told Tom the man they had pinned, identified as Weston, had been seen stealing several items from the store.Store manager Joann Smith said Weston had several items on his person before police arrived: three polo shirts, a headphone combo set and an LG400 Trac cell phone, all taken from the store.A witness, Gary Williams Jr., was shopping in the store at the time and said he saw the cashier confronting Weston, who was leaving the store. Williams said he decided to help the employee because his child had seen that Weston had a knife inside the store minutes before opening packages.Tom wrote that he could smell a strong oder of alcohol coming from Weston's face, that his speech was slurred and that he could barely maintain normal balance. He patted Weston down and found two kitchen knives, one in his right front pants pocket and the other in his right back pocket. Tom also found a bottle of Old Spice body wash hidden in Weston's left sleeve.
