A free 16-hour ropes program is slated for July 10 and 11 at Monroe County Public Safety Training Center, 100 Gypsum Rd., Stroudsburg. The course, Rope/High Angle Rescue I, will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
The program provides an introduction to rope, basic rope construction, knots, safe rappelling techniques and basic haul system construction. Students will need a helmet, leather work gloves, boots and eye protection.All students who successfully complete the Rope/High Angle Rescue I program will receive a certificate from the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy & Bucks County Community College.NFPA 1006 General Rescue Technician techniques will be presented in this program.To register, contact Bruce Henry at the MCPSTC at (570) 992-4111.
