Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on several arrests made by officers in recent days.

On Sunday, June 27, about 7:15 p.m. officers on patrol observed three suspicious males walking through the parking lot of the Crescent Beach, in Pine Crest Lake, Pocono Pines. Upon making contact with the three officers detected the odor of burnt marijuana. Further investigation revealed that one of the three, Joseph Kaso, 22, of Flushing, N.Y., was in possession of five small zip lock baggies containing marijuana.Kaso was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters were he was processed and later released. He will be charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.Also on Sunday, about 5:20 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop for an illegal inspection sticker along Long Pond Road at Sullivan Trial, in Pocono Summit. The driver was identified as Joshua Williams, 22, of Blakeslee. Upon further investigation, and the use of K9 Niko, marijuana was found inside the vehicle. Williams will be charged with possession of marijuana.On Friday, June 25, about 4:56 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop along Long Pond Road for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as Stephen Morse, 25, of Tobyhanna.Police said the license plate on the vehicle was reported stolen. A search was conducted and found was heroin and drug paraphernalia. Morse was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Snydersville on charges of possession of heroin, receiving stolen property and traffic violations.On Friday about 12:33 a.m. officers responded to a report of an assault at 98 Winding Lane, in Brier Crest Woods development, in Tunkhannock Township. Upon arrival officers were told by Michael Wade, 27, of New York City, N.Y., that he was walking in the development when he was assaulted by three white males in the area of Winding Lane but could not provide any further description of the suspects.Wade suffered a bruise to his forehead and left eye, a broken tooth and cut lip, police said. He was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment of those injuries, police said.On Saturday about 3:19 a.m. police observed a male running along SR940 near Miller Drive, and stumbling as he was running. Contact was made with him and he was identified as Benjamin Kerrick, 35, no address given. Kerrick, who was uncooperative, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest for public drunkenness and placed in the county prison overnight.
