Woman caught with drugs inside school faces charges

A Nazareth woman who was caught with heroin inside the Weatherly Elementary-Middle School in May faces drug charges.

Jessica McKeegan, 24, of Ash Drive, Nazareth, allegedly had 10 packets of the drug - two full and eight containing residue - plus a razor and a straw for snorting inside a mirrored makeup compact in her coat pocket.Weatherly police Officer Bogart said the compact fell out of the pocket and opened when McKeegan's coat was moved from a locker.A teacher's aide saw the drugs and equipment and called the school's principal, who alerted police.McKeegan, who is not a school district employee, works for an outside agency that contracts staff to work with special needs children at home and sometimes in their classrooms.Charges of 10 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of a controlled substance are pending against McKeegan, Bogart said. Police expect her to be charged this week.
