Shooting incident leads to an arrest

A Monroe County man has been arrested following an incident in which he allegedly fired shots at juveniles.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Saturday, June 12, about 3 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of 7-12-2 Delaware Trail, in the Arrowhead Lakes development in Pocono Lake. Upon arrival officers were told by several juveniles and a parent that a man had fired shots at them as they drove by his home.The man was identified as James Angelo Politano, 61, of Pocono Lake. He told officers he has been harassed by the juveniles and simply fired off a warning shot in order to scare them off. Officers said no one hit by the short and the vehicle was struck but they did recover a spent round and a firearm. Police also seized five other firearms in the residence.Politano was taken into custody and charged with three counts each of aggravated and simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. He was lodged in the county prison in Snydersville, pending arraignment.
