Carbon County District Attorney Gary Dobias, the Verizon Foundation and PBS 39 are sponsoring a workshop on Child Internet Safety at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 26 in Courtroom No. 2 of the county courthouse in Jim Thorpe.

In April and May of this year, numerous school assemblies were held throughout Carbon County to educate students on cyber safety, and provided them with information on how to use the Internet to its fullest educational purpose while learning to avoid potential dangers targeting children while they are using the Internet.Dobias said the May 26th parent session will offer information to enable parents to monitor computer activity so that their children can use the Internet in a safe environment. The session is open to the public and will offer a question and answer period.
