Area residents among 33 to enter guilty pleas
Seven area people were among 33 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges last Thursday in the Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin as follows:
Joshua Napolitano, 31, of 418 Hazle St., Tamaqua, pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana and was sentenced to serve 30 days on probation, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, and $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA). Napolitano was cited by Patrolman Richard Bekely, Tamaqua police.Ryan Navitsky, 32, of 251 Brown St., Tamaqua, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and was placed in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for six months with the first 15 days to be served under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a daily fee of $12, followed by 45 days on strick supervision and four months of regular probation. Navitsky also has to pay a fine of $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, complete an alcohol hgihway safety school, received intensive outpatient counseling and his driver's license is suspended 12 months. Navitsky was cited by Cpl. Duane Fredericks, Rush Township police.Dustin P. Oncay, 25, of 107 Washington St., Tamaqua, pleaded guilty to criminal use of a communication facility pertaining to drug sales and was sentenced to serve 30 days to 18 months in the county prison, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $25 to district attorney's office, $365 to Bethlehem Regioal Lab. He began his jail sentence Monday morning at 10 a.m. On a charge of delivery of a controlled substance he received a concurrrent 18 months probation sentence and on a charge of possession of a controlled substance received a concurrent 12 months probation. Oncay was cited by Patrolman Anthony Stanell, Tamaqua police.Oncay also pleaded guilty to charges of criminal conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia as charged by Sgt. Richard Weaver, Tamaqua police, and on each charge received a 12 months concurrent probation sentences. His total sentence was 30 days to 18 months. However, he has to pay additional costs, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA and $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.David S. Zellner, 38, of 1520 Penn Drive, Andreas, West Penn Township, pleaded guilty to disorderly coinduct and was ordered to pay a fine of $200,and pay $50 to CJEA. He was cited by Patrolman Willliam Cope, West Penn Township Police. Charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment against his estranged wife were nol prossed. He had previouisly been placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) program but it was revoked by President Judge William E. Baldwin for violating the terms.Brenda L. Zimmer, 47, of 6 Cherry St., Tamaqua, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance and was sentenced to serve 48 hours to 12 months in the county prison. She reports to the prison on Tuesday, June 1, at 10 a.m. She has credit for one day served. Zimmer also must pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $25 to district attorney's office, $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Zimmer was cited by Patrollman Anthony Stanell, Tamaqua oolice. On a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana charged by Patrolman Matthew Bynon, Tamaqua police, she was placed on probation for 30 days to run concurrent with the other sentence, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund.On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia received a concurrent 12 months probation sentence. On charges of criminal conspiracy, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, cited by Sgt. Richard Weaver, Tamaqua police, Zimmer was placed on a concurrent 12 months probation on each charge pay $100 to SAE fund and $50 to CJEA. Her total sentence was 48 hours to 12 months.Jeffrey David Boyer, 45. of 123 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, pleaded guilty to possession of a small amount of marijuana and was sentenced to serve 30 days on probation, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA. Boyer was cited by Patrolman Alfred Walsh, McAdoo police.Dennis M. Deaver Jr., 34, of 226 W. Ridge St., Coaldale, pleaded guilty to altering or forging documents and was sentenced to serve 12 months on probation, pay $50 to CJEA, $50 to district attorney' office for cost of bench warrant issued against him to bring him to court. On charges of operating his vehicle without an inspection certificate was fined $25 plus $50 costs and for displaying a fictitious inspection certificate was fined $100 plus $50 costs. Deaver was cited by Patrolman Charles Blesse, Coaldale police.Joshua Edward Gattine, 20, Hazleton, pleaded guilty to burglary of Rodnick's Discount Store in Minersville and was sentenced to serve 23 months on probation, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $522.96 to the store. On a charge of criminal mischief he was fined $50 plus costs. Gattine was cited by Patrolman Eric E. Sterner, Minersville police.Cody Noel Challenger, 19, Williamstown, on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance in Tower City, was given credit for one day spent in the county prison and placed on probation 23 month, pay $200 to Schuylkill County Drug Task Force, $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, $100 to SAE fund and $50 to CJEA.Daniel A. O'Connell, 39, Sacramento, on a charge of manufacture of a control substance in his home was given credit for one day spent in prison and released on probation 23 months, pay $200 fine, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA and $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Anthony Albert Dombrosky, 50, Pottsville, on a charge of DUI was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, pay $1,000 fine, $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center and license suspended 12 months.Courtney Ann Rank, Orwigsburg, on a DUI charge placed in the IPP with the first 10 days to be spent in the county prison followed by five months and 19 days on probation, pay a fine of $750, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, receive outpatient treatment and license suspended 12 months.Patrick Vincent Higgins, 32, Orwigsburg, on a charge of theft of drugs delivered to a home on Hickory Drive, West Brunswick Township, was placed on probation 18 months, pay $50 to CJEA, perform 20 hours community service and make restitution of $199 to Federal Express Company.Anthony Holland, 38, Pine Grove, on a charge of fleeing pursuit by state police was placed on probation 12 months, fined $500, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $564 to PennDOT. On charges of failing to have a driver's license, meeting vehicle proceeding in opposite direction and three counts of making an illegal passing on the left was fined a total of $150 plus $250 costs.Jeffrey Willliam Hossler, 41, Pottsville, on a charge of DUI was placed in the IPP for six months to be served on several probation standards, fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient counseling and license suspended 12 months.Patricia Ann Hranchock, 43, Pottsville, on a DUI charge was sentenced to serve one to five years in the county prison with credit for 37 days spent in a rehab center, fined $2,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend alcohol highway safety school and license suspended 18 months. On a charge of driving while license was suspended was fined $500 plus $50 costs and serve 60 days in prison to run concurrent.Richard Allen Simpson, 31, Tower City, possession of drug paraphenralia in Pine Grove was placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA and a fine of $200.Donna Marie Beury, 51, Girardville, harassing Carl Beury, Dutchtown Road, Butler Township, was fined $25 and pay $50 to CJEA.Steven Edward Casey, 22, Auburn, harassing by telephone, was placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA.Dennis Thomas Cooney, 34, Shenandoah, simple assault, placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA.Michael Morgan Griffith, 19, Pine Grove, theft of checks belonging to grandmother, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $150 to Fulton Bank.Michael R. Harwick Sr., 38, Minersville, passing three bad checks to B.J. Used Furniture Store, Pine Grove, sentenced to serve 30 days to 23 months in the county prison, pay $50 to district attorney's office, $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $2,453.54 to furniture store. On a charge of passing a bad check to Jack Rich Oil Company, received an additional 12 months on probation, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $249.90 to oil company. On a charge of theft of dumpster belonging to Michael Fulmer's Company, Rush Township, received a concurring 12 months probation sentence but must pay $50 to CJEA and restitutilon of $330.85 to Fulmer.On passing a bad check to Marlin Meat Market, Norwegian Township. was given a concurrent 12 months probation sentence, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $245.71 to the market and passing two bad checks to Roxanne McFalls, Womerlsdorf, was given a concurrent 12 months probation sentence, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $1,226.44 to the victim. His total sentence is 30 days to 23 months followed by 12 months probation and make restitution totaling $4,257.54.Jonathan Helt, 28, Hegins, DUI, spend 48 hours in the county prison and when released on probation six months, fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, enroll in Group Intervention Class, complete alcohol safe driving school and license suspended 12 months. On summary charges of speeding, fined $120 , stop sign violation, $25, disregarding traffic lane, $25, careless driving, $25 and operating without an inspection certificate, $25, plus $95 costs.Sante A. Hrunikuk, 21, Shenandoah, disordelry conduct, fined $25, and pay $50 to CJEA.Barry Joseph Hubler, 22, Ashland, simple assault on Augustine Sevitsky, Butler Township, placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA.Georgette W. Koons, 56, Pine Grove, theft of property from Turkey Hill Mini Mart where she was employed, placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA.Timothy Kreiser, 21, Pine Grove, simple assault on Caleb Derr, Pine Grove, given credit for spending 24 days in prison and was released on probaton for 18 months, and pay $50 to CJEA.Gary Lee Macon, 37, Harrisburg, two counts of simple assault on Lee Dubois, Hegins, was sentenced to serve two to 23 months in the county prison, pay $50 to CJEA and perform 30 hours of community service.Jeremy Michael Miller, 21, Tresckow, corrupution of minors in Cove Village, North Union Township, was placed on probation six months, and pay $50 to CJEA. A charge of furnishing alcohol beverages to minor was nol prossed.Lisa A. Miller, 43, Ashland, endangering welfare of children, placed on intensive probation for three years, pay $50 to CJEA, submit to mental health evaluation and comply with Children and Youth Service Agency with parenting plan.Joseph Ryan Powell , 19, Frackville, possession of a controlled substance, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Serena Renee Singh-Bhulllar, 37, Lebanon, passing bad check to Precision Body Works Inc., Pine Grove, placed on probation 18 months, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $3,067.39 to the firm.Travis L. Snyder, 28, Hegins, criminal mischief to an illuminating sign on property of Tower City Legion, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $200.Nathan J. Wagner, 26, Elizabethville, DUI, given credit for having served 33 days in prison and released on probation six months, fined $750, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $100 to Catastrophe fund, make restitutilon of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, receive outpatient counseling and license suspended 12 months.On summary charges of driving without lights to avoid identification, limitations on driving on left side of road,careless driving and stop sign violation was fined $100 plus $200 costs and on a charge of reckless driving fined $200 pluis $50 costs. Wagner was stopped in Hegins Township.All defendants must pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
