Tamaqua Police and Schuylkill County Children and Youth Services took emergency custody of two small children Thursday after a 3 year old toddler was discovered wandering Pine Street Thursday morning.
Officers were called to 233 Pine St. at 8:44 a.m. after the pre-schooler was found lingering in the vestibule. The child could not provide officers with any information, but repeatedly pointed at a specific doorway.A woman in the apartment building recognized the child and told officers he had lived there at one time. Officers took the child back to the station and contacted Children and Youth.At 9:25 a.m., Crystal Milner called to claim the child, saying she had spent the night at 316 Pine St. and discovered the child was missing after she awoke.Authorities took custody of both Milner's children. She will be cited for child endangerment.
