Friday is the last day to sign up for a hazardous materials tabletop training exercise, sponsored by the Carbon County Emergency Management Agency and Pennsylvania TRANSCAER. It is held in conjunction with Compliance Associates, Inc.

The event will take place on Tuesday, June 1, from 6:30 p.m. at the Nesquehoning Hose Company No. 1, 953 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning. Light refreshments and food will be provided.The exercise is a must program for anyone that may be affected by a hazardous materials incident. It is currently being offered to fire companies, police, EMS, Hazmat, LEPC, foam teams, decon companies, local coordinators, public safety, schools, local officials, all levels of emergency management, and others involved in emergency preparedness.Participants should bring any reference materials normally utilized in an incident.Registration is required by May 21.
