A New York man was jailed on a charge of indecent assault following an incident in Kidder Township.

Township police said Julio Tamayo, 37, of Brooklyn, was charged following an investigation into an incident reported on May 7. A woman told officers that she was asleep in a room at the Mt. Laurel Resort when she awoke to find Tamayo had gotten into bed with her and began to fondle her. Police said Tamayo is a co-worker of the victim.Tamayo was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Homanko, of Weatherly, on the assault count and harassment. He was committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning in lieu of $25,000 percentage bail. Sgt. Matthew Kuzma is the investigating officer.
