Carbon County election board prepared for Tuesday's primary

Carbon County is ready for the upcoming primary election.

During the monthly meeting of the county election board on Thursday, the board voted to approve the voter registration totals for the election on May 18.The total number of registered voters for this election is 33,465, with 19,421 registered Democrats and 14,044 registered Republicans.The board also filled a number of vacancies at numerous voting precincts throughout the county.They are as follows:• Brenda Eckley will serve as judge of elections at Franklin Township - Harrity.• Marion Straub will serve as clerk for Franklin Township - Independent.• William Mullen will serve as judge of elections at Jim Thorpe Borough - Third.• Erin Rae Joseph will serve as judge of elections at Jim Thorpe Borough - Fourth.• Tara Marzen will serve as clerk at Jim Thorpe Borough - Fourth.• Adrienne Vasiliou will serve as clerk at Lansford Borough - 25th.• Harry Procina will serve as judge of election at Lehighton Borough - 29th.• Robert Kistler will serve as judge of election at Lower Towamensing North - 32nd.• Paul M. Svetik will serve as clerk at Lower Towamensing North - 32nd.• Jo Anne Cox will serve as clerk at Nesquehoning Borough - 41st.• Stephen Agostinelli will serve as judge of election at Palmerton Borough - East.• Wendy M. Searfoss will serve as judge of election at Palmerton Borough - West.• Marsha Mertz will serve as clerk at Weissport Borough.
