Carbon County Commissioner James Walker announced receipt of an executed lease agreement with the Central New Jersey Railroad for demolition of the rail firm's dilapidated freight station in Jim Thorpe. The building must be razed within 30 days of the contract's execution, having been previously approved by the county commissioners. Walker said work on dismantling the structure should get underway within 10 days. The work will be done by the county work force with the aid of Jim Thorpe workers and equipment.
