Burglary, mischief incidents probed

A burglary and acts of criminal mischief at Schuylkill County locations were investigated recently.

State police at Schuylkilll Haven said the break-in occurred at a residence at 1984 Long Run Road, in North Manheim Township. The unsecured residence was entered sometime between noon and 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 1. Removed was a Playstation 3, Ipod nano and an ASUS netbook computer. The items are valued at about $800.Troopers are probing a mischief incident that occurred at parking area along SR443 at the off ramp of northbound Interstate 81, in Pine Grove Township. Unknown persons used spray paint to vandalized a 1998 Toyota 4Runner owned by Melissa Matz, 34, of Minersville, and a 1998 Mercury Sable owned by Scott Blum, 42, of Schuylkill Haven, that were parked in the area.The incident occurred sometime between 8 and 9:30 p.m. on Monday, May 3. Red paint was used and sprayed along the passenger and driver side, front and rear of the 4Runner and passenger side of the Sable. Damages were estimated at $250.An incident at the Pine Grove Township Recreational Park is being probed. Unknown persons removed several brown shingles from the roof area of a gazebo at the park. The incident occurred sometime between April 26 and Monday, May 3.Troopers are also probing an incident that occurred at Johh's Drive-In, located along SR209, between Port Carbon and Cumbola, in East Norwegian Township. Troopers said someone used a crowbar-type instrument to smash the glass on the eastern entry door to the business. Entry to the interior was not made and nothing appears to be disturbed or taken. The incident occurred sometime between 3:45 and 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4.Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (570) 593-2000.
