A Jim Thorpe resident escaped serious injury when his car went over a 25 foot drop after leaving Route 209 near the bridge in the borough. Carl A. Hunsicker, 30, of of West Ninth Street, was treated and released at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital in Lehighton. Chief of Police Thomas Mace said Hunsicker was traveling south when his station wagon went over a curb on the right side of the roadway and through the recently-installed chain link fence.
