Break-ins, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported on burglaries, thefts and a act of criminal mischief were investigated by troopers recently.

A break-in occurred at the home of Frank Ansted, 73, of 74 Indian Trail, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said entry was made on April 20 and reported about 10 p.m. Removed from the home was prescription medications including Vicodin valued at $130 plus U.S. currency.A home at 5546 Hideaway Hills Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County, was entered sometime between 4:05 and 5:45 p.m. on Friday, April 23. Multiple items were removed from the home including a pure silver serving set, a laptop computer and multiple watches and rings. Also taken was porcelain stype "piggie" banks and several prescription bottles. The victim is listed as a 76-year-old Kresgeville female.Angela M. Shubrick, 43, of Milton Lane, Lehighton, Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported a black Hewlett Packard Pavilion notebook PC was taken from her home sometime between Saturday, April 24, at 10 a.m. and Sunday, at 1 p.m. The PC is valued at $500.Troopers are investigating damage done to a builidng along Correll Road at Kunkletown Road, in Eldred Township, Monroe County, that occurred sometime between March 28 and April 23. The victim is listed as a 83-year-old female.Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 610-377-4270.
