A one-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Berks County has resulted in the death of a Bowmanstown woman.

Donna J. Knobloch, 59, was pronounced dead at Reading Hospital where she was transported by ambulance.The accident happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Van Reed Road in Spring Township.According to police, Knobloch was traveling south on Van Reed Road when for some unknown reason her car left the road and hit a utility pole head-on.Knobloch was by herself in the car.Deputy Coroner Terri Straka ruled the death an accident. Straka said Knobloch died of internal and multiple injuries.Van Reed Road was closed for about 2 1/2 hours because of the accident.
