Plans are under way for the Nesquehoning Hose Company's annual Labor Day Festival, which will be held September 3, 4, and 5 this year. Even though this year's event is months away, this year's event is off to a strong start with employees and equipment from Palmerton Telephone Company. Palmerton Telephone Company, a subsidiary of Pencor Services, Inc. donated and installed poles throughout the grove for the fire company. Matt Evans, fire company president, stated that initially the electrical wires used for lighting were attached to trees. Now they utilize poles and clamps to make the job look neater and last longer.
