Bears, Bombers win in softball, soccer

Pleasant Valley and Palmerton both posted wins in softball and soccer to highlight Monday's scholastic sports action.

Vy.With just over three minutes having elapsed in double overtime, Pleasant Valley's Kayla Dorney found Maggie Patterson for the game-winning goal and helped the Bears win 1-0.Dorney tapped a pass over a defenders' head right to Patterson, who was left one-on-one with the goalie. Patterson fired from about seven yards out and got it to go for the clincher.Pleasant Valley improves to 8-2 (6-0).
