Two vehicle accident in South Tamaqua

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday morning at the intersection of SR443 and SR309 in South Tamaqua (Leiby's intersection), in West Penn Township. Reportedly, a female driver of a silver Dodge Durango rear-ended a tan Honda Accord, driven by Joan Augustine, while Augustine was stopped at a red light on the northbound lane of 309. Firefighters cleaned the radiator fluid that trailed about 200 feet. Penn Mahoning Ambulance, township police, and West Penn Fire Co. No 1 responded. Two passengers were also in the Honda. The Honda had to be towed from the scene. No serious injuries were reported.
