Traffic stops lead to three arrests

Traffic stops made recently by members of the Pocono Mountain Regional police have led to charges pending against three individuals.

On Sunday, April 11, about 12:45 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle along SR196 at A Pocono Country Place main gate for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as James Shea, 18, and his passenger as Sean Patrick Barrett, 18, of Pittsburgh. The officers observed in plain view a case of beer in the back seat.Shea submitted to field sobriety tests, which he failed. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Shea was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), underage drinking, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Barrett was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage drinking.On Friday, April 9, about 11:38 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle along SR940 at Locust Ridge Road, in Pocono Lake, for several vehicle code violations. The driver was identified as Jacqueline Possinger, of Mt. Pocono. Possinger was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. She was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.
