Nesquehoning arrests reported

Nesquehoning police reported on arrests made by officers in recent days.

On April 4 about 6:43 p.m. Chief Sean Smith was dispatched to the area E. Mill Street for a dog running loose. Smith identified the owner of the dog as Matthew Tucker, of 52 E. Mill St. The dog was transported to the Carbon County Animal Shelter. Smith filed charges of dog license required and confinement of dogs against Tucker.Smith reported on a retail theft incident on April 7 about 4:41 p.m. at The Dollar General Store, 1125 E. Catawissa St. At the scene Smith took Greg Macalush, of 71 W. Catawissa St., into custody and charged him with retail theft. He was later released after being issued the citation.On April 9 Officer Brian White issued a traffic citation along SR209 and Center St., for drivers required to be licensed. Officer Timothy Wuttke issued a citation for speeding, 59 miles-per-hour in a 40 zone at SR209 and SR93.On April 10 Officer Robert Blisard issued a traffic citation for speeding, 42 in a 25 zone at Oak and Catawissa sts.On April 12 Officer White issued a traffic citation for speeding, 69 in a 40 zone at SR209 and SR93.
