On Saturday, April 24 at 10 a.m., JoAnn Smith Ainsworth will be guest author and speaker at the Dimmick Memorial Library, 54 Broadway in downtown Jim Thorpe. She will have available and will autograph her novels "Matilda's Song" and "Out of the Dark."

Ainsworth is a 1956 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School, and is excited about coming back to her home town and speaking in her home town library"Matilda's Song" is a medieval romance set in Britain a generation after the Norman Conquest. "Out of the Dark" is a medieval romantic suspense novel with a touch of paranormal. It has been recommended for high school as well as adult readers.Sponsored by the Friends of the Dimmick Library, the event is free and open to the public. For information call the library at (570) 325-2131.Bereavement groupThe bereavement group sponsored by St. Joseph's parish will meet this evening from 7 to 8:30 in the Brogan room of the church, 6th and North streets.Community supperThe menu for the next free community supper will be roast beef. The supper will be held at St.Mark's/St. John's Episcopal Church, Race Street, on Sunday, April 25, from 4 to 6 p.m.
