Fake bill passed in Schuylkill

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the passing of a fake $10 bill at a Schuylkill County business.

Troopers said the bill was passed at the McDonald's Restaurant at 981 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, on Thursday, April 8, between 1 and 2 p.m. Troopers said the bill was extremely similar in printed content to an actual bill, however, no security strip was present; no watermark could be seen; the torch of liberty was not raised ink and color shifting ink was not used for the number 10 in the lower right corner of the note. It bore serial number IC62562096A.Troopers said they are working with the U.S. Secret Service in the probe. Area businesses are being warned to be aware of the money.
