Miss Amelia Bonomo of Weatherly High School was the winner of the Carbon County Girls' Oratorical contest at Nesquehoning High School and will represent the county in the district competition to be held in Northampton. Her subject was "Their America and Mine." Second place winner was Mary Jane Exner. Other contestants were Marian Sampson, Lansford; Emma Hodel, Lehighton; Elaine Gover, Mauch Chunk; Eleanor Newton, Nesquehoning; Albine Sarvajic, Palmerton, and Helen Haravitch, Summit Hill.
