E. Penn man removed from meeting faces disorderly conduct charge

An East Penn Township man who became unruly and was escorted from a public meeting is set to appear in court.

Walter Zlomsowitch, 75, of 2001 Ben Salem Road, Andreas is scheduled to have his preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. Thursday before District Judge Bruce Appleton of Palmerton.Zlomsowitch faces one charge of disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred during a meeting of the township's board of supervisors last month at the East Penn Social Hall. The incident occurred at 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 1, after Zlomsowitch said the township forfeited a $62,000 grant, at which time he was removed from the meeting by a police officer who was in attendance. The money Zlomsowitch referred to was for Eidem Road, and had to be forfeited because grants have a time limitation and the money was not spent within the limit.Zlomsowitch was removed for disrupting a public meeting after being advised to stop his actions on several occasions, according to township police officer Al Beischline, who cited him for disorderly conduct.
