It's all about the meaning

Dear Editor:

Many of my letters have been edited for the use of the following word. I guess it's good enough for the Bible but not for the newspaper. All animals have one. I've been called a horses' many times!Jesus rode on an ass through the streets on Palm Sunday. There's also the mention of the jawbone of an ass in the same book. How horrible, that such a word is used. Now days I guess the Bible would get an "R" rating for using such profanity.Definition: ASS (According to Dan Webster), 1. Any of several hordy gregarious mammals, that are smaller than the horse, have long ears, and include one domesticated form. 2. A stupid, obstinate or perverse person. Example: Did you see the ass at the party? Now it could have been a donkey someone brought to the party or the person wearing the lamp shade. Though it'd probably be the latter.By that same token, when Jesus rode an ass through the streets. Was it a donkey? No one knows for sure? We were not there! He could have been piggy-backed through the streets by one of his friends. Probably an Apostle? But which one? My guess would be Peter! This letter is written in jest. If it offended you in any way, just do as Jesus would, turn the other cheek, after all you still have three left!A native ChunkerPeter Bott,East Mauch Chunk
