Warrant Night conducted by police

Schuylkill County constables and police departments from the boroughs of Tamaqua, McAdoo and Coaldale, as well as Rush, West Penn and Kline townships spent hours during the evening of March 10 executing outstanding warrants.

Warrant Night was directed by District Judge Stephen Bayer, who has an office in Tamaqua. Law enforcement officials served 89 summary warrants, four felony and one fugitive warrant.Defendants were given the opportunity to pay their debts, but four people found themselves incarcerated in the county prison, Pottsville, at the end of the night. Eleven people had multiple outstanding warrants, with one man's fines reaching a total of $1,044.50. In total, $13,588.91 was collected that night.
