Two drivers facing DUI charges

Two drivers are facing charges of driving under the influence (DUI) following incidents in Carbon County, both occurring on Sunday, March 7.

State police at Lehighton said about 6:51 p.m. Larry Scot Eckert, 44, of Nesquehoning, was stopped for several motor vehicle code violations along SR209, across from Frank's Gas Station, in Franklin Township. He was found to be under the influence of prescription drugs and was placed under arrest. The DUI charge is pending test results.At 10:10 p.m. Keith Alen Washeim, 39, of Tamaqua, was stopped along SR248 in Parryville for several motor vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest. Troopers said charges will be filed.
