Eight first time offenders in criminal cases were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) program last week by Senior Judge Richard W. Webb.

If a person successfully completes all the conditions of the program their record his wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete the program the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program. All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Those placed included:Cory Michael Charron, 36, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI). He was arrested on Nov. 13, 2009, along North St., in Lehighton. Given a test, the result was .06BAC.He was ordered to pay $350 and costs, get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evalucation and follow all recommendations for treatment and his license was suspended for 60 days.Justin Kulis, 22, of Lehighton, was placed for two years on a drug charge. He was arrested on Oct. 30, 2009, along Lafayette Ave. in Palmerton.He was ordered to pay $500 and costs, get a D&A evaluation and render 15 hours of community service.Amy Lynn Lauer, 34, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of DUI. She was arrested on Oct. 3, 2009, along Delaware Ave., in Palmerotn. Given a test, the result was .18BAC.She was ordered to pay $450 and costs, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended for 60 days and render three hours of community service per month while in the program.Heather L. Loar, 23, of Lansford, was placed for a total of two years on simple assault and disorderly conduct charges in two separate incidents. She was arrested on April 27, 2009, by Lansford police with Brian Kukowski the listed victim, for the assault and on March 7, 2009, by Lansford police for an incident along Oak St.She was ordered to pay $350 and costs, get mental health counseling, and render 15 hours of community service.Melissa L. Primer, 36, of Lehighton, was placed on a terroristic threats charge. She was arrested on Dec. 27, 2009, by Mahoning Township police for an incident at the Giant Supermarket.She was ordered to pay $350 and costs, stay out of the market and no contact with any of the victims.Roxanne M. Rybicki, 29, of Hardwick, N.J., was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on June 20, 2009, along Lentz Trail in Jim Thorpe. Given a test, the result was .23BAC.She was ordered to pay $450 and costs, get a D&A evaluation, and license suspended for 60 days.Mack E. Whittaker Jr., 22, of Albrightsville, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Sept. 24, 2009, along Mauch Chunk St., in Mahoning Township. Given a test, the result was .14BAC.He was ordered to pay $400 and costs, get a D&A evaluation, 30 day license suspension and render 14 hours of community service.Valerie Williams, 22, of Lansford, was placed on a harassment charge. She was arrested on Sept. 11, 2009, in Nesquehoning with Andre Morales the listed victim.She was ordered to pay $500 and costs and render 15 hours of community service.Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
