Nine defendants in pending criminal cases entered into plea agreements and pleaded guilty in Carbon County court on Tuesday. Senior Judge Richard W. Webb presided and accepted the pleas.

Those entering pleas included:David A. Acevedo, 26, of Philadelphia, and formerly of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of aggravated assault. He was arrested on Nov. 9, 2009, at a residence along W. Sixth St.Ambulance personnel and police were dispatched to the home for a reported drug overdose. At the scene Acevedo was found to be the patient. He was unruly and fought with ambulance personnel and police. Two ambulance EMT workers and a police officers were listed as the victims of the assault.Webb accepted the plea but deferred sentencing and ordered a presentence investigation (PSI) be prepared by the adult probation office.Leanna M. Altemose, 23, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property. She admitted her part in the theft of jewelry from Jennifer Fisher on Aug. 9, 2009, in Palmerton. The jewelry was later sold in Lehighton. There is a co-defendant in the case.Webb placed her on probation for a year and ordered she make restitution of $800 for her part in the incident and render three hours of community service per month while on probation.Peter J. Connor, 41, of Nesquehoning, pleaded to one count of harassment, as a summary offense. He was arrested on Sept. 22, 2009, at his residence following a domestic incident involving his wife, Rachel Connor, as the victim.Webb sentenced him to time served (nine days in jail).Ronald Eidem Jr., 31, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of theft. He was arrested on June 11, 2009, for taking various fishing equipment from the parked car of Timothy Gazka, in Franklin Township.Webb placed him on probation for a year and ordered restitution of $925 to the victim.Joseph Lewis Moyer Jr., 57, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of accidents involving death/injury and not propertly licensed. He was arrested on July 31, 2009, at the intersection of Fairyland and Indian Hill roads in Franklin Townsip. He failed to stop for a stop sign and crashed his vehicle. A passenger with him was injured. At the time of the crash Moyer had a suspended license.Webb deferred sentencing to a later date.Allan Paulley, 39, of Nesquehoning, pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property. He was arrested on Jan. 11, 2009, by Kidder Township police for his part in a theft of a vehicle in which several items were removed from the car. He admitted to possession of items taken from the car but not for the taking of the vehicle. The incident occurred in the Lake Harmony area of the township.Webb deferred sentencing and ordered a PSI.Christine Ann Reeves, 38, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count each of theft and forgery. She was arrested on Dec. 30, 2008, for an incident in which she took checks and a credit card belonging to JoAnn Murray. The forged Murray's name on some checks and used the credit card.Webb placed her on probation for two years on each count, running concurrently, and ordered her to make restitution of $1,747.86 and have no contact with the victim.Michael Ruckhardt, 26, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count of retail theft, as a felony three, third offense. He was arrested on Jan. 8, 2009, by Lansford police for an incident at Boyer's Market and the taking of merchandise valued at $8.62.Webb placed him on probation for a year and ordered he supply a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee.Jeremy Scheckler, 20, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of forgery. He was arrested on Oct. 2, 2009, by Lehighton police for presenting a forged prescription slip at the Rite Aid store.Webb placed him on probation for 18 months and ordered he get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.All defendants must pay all court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee.
