Heritage centerA meeting for all parties interested in using the Summit Hill Heritage Center, the former St. Paul United Church of Christ, will be held on Monday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m.The center is operated by a nonprofit organization and currently houses the Summit Hill Food Bank and serves as a meeting place for the local Boy Scouts and for yoga classes. Future plans include formation of a Girl Scout troop and the hosting of music programs, cultural events and fun nights for the young and old.Anyone interested in the center can attend the meeting.Catholic schoolsThe weeklong observance of Catholic Schools Week will continue at Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford, on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, the students will participate in "Dress to Express Day," in which they will dress up to the vocation to which they aspire. On Friday, the observance will close with a Mass at 9 a.m., to be officiated by Bishop John O. Barres, followed by an appreciation luncheon for faculty and staff.SH genealogySummit Hill residents having genealogy information that they wish to share with the Summit Hill Historical Society are invited to do so.
