A Schuylkill County resident is the victim of identity theft.

State police at Reading said someone obtained the social security number and birth date of Christian Keller, 24, of Cressona, and used that information to open a credit card account with Home Depot. The account was opened using a computer.The person then purchased $7,960.77 worth of electrical lighting, kitchen and plumbing supplies from a Home Depot store in the Philadelphia area. A computer was also used to make the purchases, which occurred during the period of Oct. 17 and 19, 2009.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at the Schuylkill Haven barracks at (570) 593-2000.
