Play tryouts

Tryouts for the Jim Thorpe Drama Club production of "West Side Story" will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. in the high school. Parts are open to ages 13 and up. Adults are also welcome. The production under the direction of Natalie Kmetz, will be held on Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1, at the school. McGavin is a 2009 graduate of CCTI, where she was the salutatorian. She attained a 3.9 GPA. She is a freshman majoring in graphic arts and game design. She is also the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Poe.Reorganizationmeeting slatedMembers of the Jim Thorpe Touchdown Club will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 6 p.m. in the commons area of the high school. Nomination and election of officers for the new year will be held, as well as discussion of projects pertaining to the 2010 football season.Community supperThe free community supper will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race St., on Sunday, Jan. 24, from 4-6 p.m. The menu planned for this month is pulled pork and soup. All are welcome.
