The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts:Asset Acceptance, LLC, as assignee of Citibank, Roseland, N.J., filed against William O. Moreton IV, 90 Ridgeview Dr., Lehighton, seeking $12,681.03.Asset Acceptance, LLC, as assignee of Superior Bank, Roseland, N.J., filed against Glenn L. Hoffman, 881 Laurytown, Weatherly, seeking $14,892.60.Security Credit Services, LLC, G.E. Capital, Sam's Club, Roseland, N.J., filed an action against Bill Reese, 743 Princeton Ave., Palmerton, seeking $12,410.76.FIA Card Services, N.A., Pittsburgh, filed an action against Stephen Krynock, 204 W. Hazard St., Summit Hill, seeking $11,224.67.Municipal liensFranklin Township, a political subdivision and Carbon County municipality, has filed five municipal liens against Terryl Glen Leuckel, owner of properties in the township.The claims are based on unpaid garbage bills the defendant owes for properties he owns as follows: 14 Fairyland Road, two liens, $426.84 and $967.90; 10 Fairyland Road, two liens, $438.99 and $967.90; and 12 Fairyland Road, $967.90.MortgageforeclosuresThe following action was filed as mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on loans:Household Finance Consumer Discount Company, Elmhurst, Ill., filed an action against Brian T. Herman and Sharelle Herman, 51 Penn Spring Dr., Jim Thorpe, over a property at that address, a/k/a 1032 Porter Drive, Penn Forest Township. Sought is $53,378.17 in principal, fees and interest.Negligence chargedJohn Durosky, 83 Leisure Lane, Jim Thorpe, has started a civil action suit against Sears/Kmart, Lexington, Ky., seeking an arbitration award.The action, initiated by filing of a writ of summons, alleges negligence on the part of the defendant.Sues over accidentJose Picart and Sanali Picart, husband and wife, of Allentown, filed a civil action against Joseph Miller, Tyrone R.3, Pa., seeking an award for injuries the husband sustained in an accident on Oct. 31, 2007, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. A jury trial is demanded.The complaint says Picart was traveling north on the Northeast Extension of the turnpike, about nine miles south of the Pocono Interchange, when a vehicle operated by the defendant crashed into the rear of the plaintiff's vehicle, causing serious injuries to him.The plaintiff alleges Miller's careless and negligent acts resulted in the plaintiff sustaining right shoulder, knee, cervical and lumbar spine injuries.A second cause of action is contained in the complaint on behalf of Sanali Picart, who claims to have suffered loss of consortium because of her husband's injuries.Negligence chargedThe All State Insurance Company, as subrogee of May Dover, Roanoke., Va., has filed a civil action against Picone Construction, Inc., 1126 Main Rd., Lehighton.The plaintiff contends that on or about Feb. 13, 2008, due to negligence on the part of the defendant, the plaintiff's insured sustained damages in the amount of $3,019.99, which the defendant has failed to pay.In a claims history report, the plaintiffs contend the defendant was hired to do renovation work at the insured's home, which included taking off the entire roof when adding a second level. The plaintiff contends that despite assurances by the contractor that inclement weather would not damage the property, the home sustained water damages on two occasions, including the chimney leaking into the fireplace and the walls and ceilings sustaining water damages.All State is seeking the above-listed sum, $364 in interest, and court costs.
