Diabetes Education classes listed

St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital will hold community Diabetes Education Classes, featuring speakers and an exercise program, at ABC Tamaqua Hi-Rise. The first class will be held form 6 pm - 7 pm on today. The classes will continue for eight consecutive weeks. The first three class topics are as follows:

Tuesday, March 9th, 6 pm - 7 pm: Learn a healthy approach to exercise! You'll be introduced to an exercise routine that can easily be done by a beginner or elderly person in the home.Tuesday, March 16th, 6 pm - 7 pm: Learn helpful and important tips from a Diabetes Educator with St. Luke's Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology. A representative will talk about the newest technology and pumps in diabetes management. Enjoy a brief exercise session.Tuesday, March 23rd, 6 pm - 7 pm: Learn options for healthy eating! You'll hear how to make the best food choices for living healthy with diabetes. Enjoy an exercise segment."The diabetes education classes will provide our community with a great opportunity to learn about diabetes and good nutritional habits.
