Lehighton bands stage free Weatherly concert

The Lehighton Band and the Lehighton Boys and Girls Band will present a concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 13, in Eurana Park, Weatherly.

The program will open with the Lehighton Boys and Girls Band playing several selections under their director, Robert E. Fetterman.

This will be followed by several member by the Lehighton Band under the direction of Paul R. Smith.

The concert will conclude with six selections by the combined bands.

Included in the first part of the program are "Rhapsody in Blue," "The Gillette Look Sharp March," and "The Rainbow Connection."

Among the numbers played by the Lehighton Band will be "Guadalcanal March," "The Peanut Vendor," and "Pop and Rock Legend: Neil Diamond."

The combined bands will play "El Camino," "Sweet Georgia Brown," "Baby Elephant Walk," and "Symbol of Honor March."

The concert is free and open to the public.

The music is sponsored by businesses, professional people, and music lovers from throughout Carbon County.
