3 bid packages approved

Walker Township Supervisors approved three different bid packages at last night's meeting. The first was for 1,000 gallons of off road fuel. Fegley's was awarded the contract, with a low bid of $2.21 per gallon.

The supervisors awarded Amity Fence Company the bid to complete the fencing around the newly renovated tennis court. Their submitted proposal for the replacement of approximately 50 feet of chain link fencing and a gate was $2,500.

Patton & Lettich picked up the award for the 2009 township audit, for a price of $1,600. Supervisors added the stipulation that the audit must be completed within 30 days of receipt of the township records.

Supervisors also got an update on several projects from the township's engineer, David Horst, from Alfred Benesch. Horst recommended that he and the supervisors review the work completed on the Wildcat Park by the end of summer, as the one year maintenance bond is due to expire in October. Horst will provide supervisors with an update and recommendations on the Cold Run Bridge Project. "We're going to give you a rough estimate for the repairs, so you have an idea of the range," said Horst. Horst also discussed an invitation that the supervisors received to a countywide meeting to discuss the watershed plan. Horst explained that Alfred Benesch is the firm that will be doing the plan, and that he would keep supervisors informed of the project, if they wished.

Supervisors met in executive session to discuss personnel matters.
